We cut this chest sling from vegetable-tanned leather dyed a deep, even black that conceals everyday scuffs. The body measures 6.5 inches long, 3.1 inches deep, and 10.25 inches tall, resting flat against your ribs without excess bulk. It stays light on the shoulder at 1.17 pounds.

How this one is built
Vegetable-tanned black hide
We chose soft vegetable-tanned cowhide for the shell. The black finish has a low sheen that breaks in gradually, softening around the corners while holding the upright shape of the zippered chambers.
Dual zipped main compartments
Two primary compartments keep your daily cargo separated. Inside the front section, we built in five dedicated card slots lined with RFID-blocking fabric alongside an internal zip pocket for receipts and cash.
Exterior utility pockets
A rear zip pocket sits flush against your back for secure storage. Up front, you get a quick-access zip pouch and a drop pocket secured with a metal hook buckle for small gear.
Balanced convertible strap
The webbing strap adjusts from 24.8 to 44.4 inches end to end. We fitted clips to both bottom corners so you can switch the carry from your left side to your right side in seconds.
Carrying it
The bag sits at the hip. This is where most of ours land. At 6.5″ by 10.3″ across the face and 3.1″ deep, it comes to about 207 cubic inches inside. That is enough for water bottle standing upright.
