How we choose what to show
Everything we make goes on this site once it has a full set of measurements. Nothing gets in for any other reason, and nothing gets a better place for paying for one.
The catalogue is not a shortlist. Every bag we currently sell is here, all 152 of them, and the only thing that keeps one off is a missing measurement. If we cannot print a length, a width and a height, the card would be a photograph and a price, which is what we built this site to avoid.
What decides the order
Sections are sorted by how many people have bought and rated a bag, because that is the one signal we did not write ourselves. Roundups on the front page work the same way, except that a bag only appears once per shape: the same body in five colours is five listings sharing one set of reviews, and letting it fill a row would be a trick.
What we will not do
We do not move a bag up for having a better margin, we do not bury a shape because it is being discontinued, and we do not quietly drop a low rating. Where a bag is rated below the rest we leave the number where it is. There are 149 rated bags in here and the average across them is 4.4.
Where the ratings come from
Ratings and review counts are read off the retail listing and refreshed when we rebuild the site. They are not ours, we cannot edit them, and we do not reprint the reviews themselves anywhere on this site.
