We cut this small hobo from vegetable-tanned cowhide dyed a deep navy blue that reads almost ink-black in low light. The bench measurements come out to 9.05 inches long, 3.54 inches deep, and 7.08 inches tall. It keeps its rounded shape cleanly even when you carry only your keys and wallet.

How this one is built
Vegetable-tanned hide
The top-grain leather takes on a soft sheen as it breaks in. Navy blue hides scratches better than pale tans, and you can rub away light surface marks with a dry cotton cloth.
Four zipped compartments
We built four exterior and interior zipped sections into the frame, including a flat security pocket along the back wall. Small items stay separated instead of falling to the bottom.
Dual strap setup
The bag comes with two interchangeable straps. One is matching leather that adjusts from 38.97 to 48 inches long, while the other is a wider patterned webbing strap for heavier loads.
Lining and hardware
Inside, we finished the cavity with a dense brown fabric lining that resists snags. The gunmetal pull tabs and swivel clips match the muted tone of the dark blue hide.
Carrying it
The bag sits at the hip. This is where most of ours land. At 9.1″ by 7.1″ across the face and 3.5″ deep, it comes to about 227 cubic inches inside. That is enough for long wallet and a phone.
