We cut this mid-sized satchel from supple top-layer cowhide in deep black, stitched through with light contrast thread. How this one is built
Top layer hide
We select supple top-layer cowhide that bends easily without cracking across the gussets. The black finish has a soft sheen in daylight, matched with durable contrast stitching that outlines each exterior seam and zipper track.
Pocket division
Inside, a center zip partition splits the main space into two open sections. We added two slip pockets on one side and a zippered wall pocket on the other, lined throughout in sturdy bronze-toned polyester.
Exterior zip access
Two horizontal zip pockets run across the front face for parking parking stubs or keys. Around back, a third zippered pocket sits flush against your hip to keep a phone secure while you walk.
Strap and hardware
We fitted dark bronze hardware to anchor the detachable shoulder strap. The leather band adjusts from 40.17 to 47.58 inches end to end, letting the 1.14-pound bag hang comfortably across the body or off one shoulder.
Carrying it
The bag sits at the hip. This is where most of ours land. At 9.8″ by 9.1″ across the face and 3.9″ deep, it comes to about 350 cubic inches inside. That is enough for water bottle standing upright, long wallet and a phone.
